T. Cain’s Thoughts, is a blog that I hope connects with your thoughts. Small or big, thoughts shape our perspective. I am all about thinking with a new and old perspective, a Heaven perspective. Jesus taught us to pray, “on earth as it is in heaven.” Kingdom thoughts have the power to shape our perspective for the here and now. C.S. Lewis said, “aim for heaven and you get earth thrown in.” Our perspective is too small, we need Gods perspective. The book of Isaiah testifies to this, “Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Think about it, just as the Orion nebula is higher than the earth so are Gods ways and thoughts higher than ours! “Lean not on your own understanding but commit your way to the Lord.” “Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” New thoughts and perspectives must be anchored to the foundation laid of old. Looking back is the way forward. A foundational verse for me is, Jeremiah 6:16, “Stand by the roads and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.” Jesus referenced this foundation when he said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Jesus is TRUE rest and TRUE peace, and that is what this blog is about.
